Reflection Blog 4# SAMR

Image
Final Blog  This is it everyone, we are in the  home stretch!  Another week, another blog post. To quote Nacho Libre, "So anyways, let's get down to the nitty-gritty."  The Relationship between SAMR and TLC      The relationship between SAMR and TLC (Teaching, Learning, Communicating) is important because they work well together in education. From Dr. Gus's video and the articles I've read, I see that SAMR fits closely with the learning part of TLC. In simple terms, TLC is a broader framework that includes SAMR.The main point is that SAMR focuses on student learning.       This idea should resonate with most educators since our goal is to improve our students' learning experiences. However, it took me some time to fully understand this connection. Realizing that SAMR's purpose is to enhance student learning made its role in my teaching clearer. By viewing SAMR as part of TLC, I see that using technology isn't just about adding tools...

Reflection Post #3 TCL-Collaboration Tool Miro

Image
Another week, another post 😆 As always, let's jump into the nitty-gritty of it, shall we?  The third week has continued to enlighten me about the various collaboration tools available for educators to utilize in the classroom. In the last post, I had shared that I was only aware of a few and hadn't gone super in-depth with their capabilities. However, I am circling back to review the list with the various tools provided, so I can take a closer look at how I can incorporate them into my own classroom. One of the collaboration tools that I found myself gravitating back towards is Miro. I will be the first to admit that when it was initially brought up in class and I reviewed it, I was a bit dismissive.  Miro  is a space for you and your students to organize ideas, share thoughts, and take notes together in real-time. A word to describe it in a bare-bones way is a whiteboard. However, it is an innovative whiteboard that is a valuable tool.  There is an outs...

Reflection Blog Post #2 Web 2.0 Teaching Tools

Image
Well, hello there,  Let's jump right in, shall we? The second week has been an eye-opener regarding the various teaching tools available. I was only aware of a few, such as Canva, Newsela, and Padlet. I've utilized Wix and other platforms such as the ones I mentioned previously. However, the only tool I utilized during my time as a long-term sub is Newsela. I used Newsela to derive content for the different units focused on World History and A.P. World History. However, the site I plan to utilize in the classroom, as well as for my projects in this course, is Magic School AI. I started playing around with the site and realized how neat it is. Magic School AI is a website that provides educators with various AI-powered tools to help create lesson plans, generate content, and offer feedback to students. In simple terms, it is an AI assistant that allows educators to alleviate their workload and make it more efficient. The potential of Magic School AI to...

Reflection Post #1: Media Literacy

My feelings: In all honesty, I felt a little stressed and overwhelmed after the first week of class, mainly due to my tumultuous relationship with technology. A few hours before writing the first blog post, I encountered issues signing in via Google. For some odd reason, it kept denying my password, so I had to reset it. However, after doing so, I kept running into errors and had to keep resetting my password. At that time, I was attending an appointment for my sister, so I was trying to access my account while also resetting my password, all while navigating to reset my email password. I was trying not to get frustrated, but after having to reset my password four times, I was nearly ready to give up and go home. Thankfully, I was able to access my account and email once my sister and I left her appointment.  I would like to say that I am a fairly patient individual. Still, when it comes to technology, I tend to get exasperated, especially when trying to access document...
